A man accused of firing several gunshots overnight outside of a Tampa gas station has been arrested.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, 29-year-old Clay Sidney Allred walked into a Mobil gas station on Fowler Avenue just after midnight and got into an argument with the store clerk.

Deputies said after the clerk told Allred to leave, Allred yelled an ethnic slur at the man, who is Arab.

Allred then walked out to his Jeep Wrangler and fired three gunshots before pulling out of the parking lot, officials said.

Deputies tracked down the vehicle a short time later and found several guns in the vehicle, including an assault rifle.

Allred was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, shooting from a vehicle and criminal mischief.

There were no injuries reported.
