An 18-year-old Haines City man was killed Thursday night in a single-vehicle crash.
According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Jose Luis Farias Orozco was killed just before 9 p.m. when his 2006 Honda sedan went off Providence Boulevard near Heritage Green Drive in Davenport.
Authorities said the car went off the road during a heavy rain storm.
The car rotated 90 degrees, jumped the curb and struck a tree on the driver's side.
Officials said no one witnessed the crash, but other drivers traveling in the area called emergency responders for assistance and attempted to help.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies responded and found the driver unresponsive. Deputies attempted life saving measures until Polk County Fire and Medic units arrived.
Orozco died at the scene.
A crash investigation is ongoing.
