They managed to crawl out of the car unharmed.

On Carlyle Rd., a tree fell in a yard and damaged a fence.

Myra Mendez was home when it happened.

"I was just scared and happy that my truck wasn't on the other side because earlier it was. My husband had gone to pick up the boys at school or else I probably would have been carless, " she said.

Power lines were also knocked down.

No injuries are being reported.

According to Bay News 9 meteorologist Diane Kacmarik, many areas will stay warm through the evening.

"Skies will be mostly clear with lows 79 to 80 around Tampa Bay to mid 70s inland and north," said Kacmarik.

Saturday will be similar with storms beginning in the afternoon.

By Sunday a cold front will approach from the northeast, which will help to increase the rain chance.

Tropical Wave Invest 96-L poorly defined

A small area of low pressure located just north of the Mona Passage between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic has caused a tropical distrubance.

Satellite wind data and preliminary reports from an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft indicate that the circulation associated with the low is poorly defined.

Conditions will become more favorable for a tropical depression or tropical storm when the disturbance moves near or over the southeastern Bahamas on Saturday.

Gusty winds and heavy rainfall are expected across Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands today, and over portions of Hispaniola and the southeastern and central Bahamas tonight and Saturday.

Watches and warnings for the Bahamas could be issued if organization continues.

Computer models continue to be in good agreement in keeping this tropical system east of Florida.

We will continue to track it throughout the week
