Deputies have arrested a Seminole man in connection to a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist.

The accident occurred on Wednesday, August 20 in the area of Seminole Blvd. and Baypines Blvd. in Seminole.

According to deputies, at approximately 9:50 p.m. a silver sedan was observed driving southbound on Seminole Blvd. At the same time, the driver of a Harley Davidson was traveling northbound on Seminole Blvd.

Deputies said the driver of the silver sedan made a left hand turn on to Baypines Blvd. in front of the Harley Davidson causing the driver of the motorcycle to strike the rear passenger side of the silver sedan. The sedan then continued driving down Baypines Blvd., deputies said.

The driver of the Harley Davidson, identified as 55-year-old Randy Deane, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, deputies identified the driver of the sedan as 44-year-old Daniel McCaslin. He is charged with one count of leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury and one count of leaving the scene of a crash with property damage.
