Police looking for 'armed and dangerous' Winter Haven man

Police are looking for a Winter Haven man wanted in connection with an incident that happened Sunday.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Tamaries Delquan Richardson, 20, on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and violation of probation.

Police said Richardson was released from prison in May on weapons charges, and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Detectives said Richardson, along with Damian R. Green, 20, and three or four other men, were riding through the parking lot of the Palm Place Apartments when they approved a man and woman.

The woman recognized the men in the car and told police she saw a firearm in Richardson's right hand as he got out of the vehicle, police said.

Richardson approached the man and threatened to shoot him, then threatened to shoot the woman as well, police said.

Police said Richardson then handed the gun to Green and threatened to shoot the pair as well. At one point, police said Green told them he didn't care who he had to shoot, and that he would shoot police if they showed up.

While this was happening, the woman got a tire iron from the back of her car. Police said Richardson took the gun back from Green and pointed it at the woman, threatening to shoot her.

At this point, an unknown woman called to the group, and the men, including Green and Richardson, walked to the center of the apartment complex. Police said the woman called 911 as soon as she lost sight of the group.

When police arrived, they found Green at one of the apartments. He was arrested for aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, violation of probation and armed trespassing.

Green had previously been released from Florida State Prison in August 2013 on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
