Bay area travelers have a new option when they fly out of St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport.
PeoplExpress is officially back in the skies after a hiatus stretching back to the 1980s.
The airliner completed its first flight on Friday evening, arriving at the airport from Virginia.
The carrier is now offering three weekly flights to Virginia.
Former employees, all living in the Bay area, were at the inaugural flight's arrival with memorabilia and stories about what it was like to work for an iconic airline brand.
