The hunt for a Bay area fugitive is making national news.

Christopher Ponce, 22, was featured on CNN’s “The Hunt with John Walsh” on Sunday night.

Ponce is accused of causing a fatal crash in July of 2012, and then going on the run as he awaited trial.

The family of the young man who lost his life in the crash is hoping this new exposure will finally help authorities catch Ponce and bring him back to face a DUI manslaughter charge, among others.

William Angel, 20, was killed on I-275 in the crash. Hillsborough County deputies say his car was hit by a wrong-way drunk driver -- Christopher Ponce.  Last year, authorities say Ponce was on house arrest awaiting trial, when he cut off his ankle monitor and disappeared.

The case was featured in Sunday night’s episode of “The Hunt.”

The Angels say they're keeping their fingers crossed, but regardless of the outcome, they'll never give up.

"I owe it to William to help catch him,” said William’s father, Wade, “There's more hope now, but there's not a matter of, ‘if this show doesn't catch him we're going to give up.’  No, we're going to continue to look."

Wade says he spends most of his time online looking for clues to where Ponce could be, and keeping in touch with the U.S. Marshall’s Service.

There is a reward for any information leading to Ponce's arrest.
