A man attempting to cross Hillsborough Avenue on a bicycle was struck by a vehicle and killed early Sunday.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, 44-year-old Jerome Thomas, address unknown, tried to cross Hillsborough about 300 feet west of N. Lois Avenue around 5 a.m.
Thomas, who was wearing dark clothing, failed to yield to the eastbound traffic and was hit by a vehicle driven by Lorenzo Rodriguez, 57, of Tampa.
Rodriguez was not cited.
