An off-duty detention deputy for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office was arrested following an internal investigation into a road rage incident in Seffner Tuesday.

According to detectives, just before 10:30 a.m., off-duty detention deputy Reginald Migues and Arthur Langley, 41, argued with each other during a road rage incident that occurred along Williams Road and U.S. Hwy 92 in Seffner.

Both men pulled their vehicles into a parking lot at 5520 Carmack Road in Seffner. Migues exited his vehicle and walked towards Langley who began exiting his vehicle, according to detectives.

Detectives said Migues pulled out his personal Glock 40 cal handgun, chambered a round and pointed the gun at Langley, putting Langley in fear of his life.

Langley got back into his vehicle and called 911, deputies said. Migues went back to his vehicle and the confrontation ended with no injuries, deputies said.

During today's investigation, detectives said Migues admitted to possessing the loaded firearm and chambering a round as he approached Langley to confront him.

Once the Internal Affairs detectives completed the investigation, Migues was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Migues was booked into the Orient Road Jail late Tuesday afternoon.

Migues, 54, has been suspended without pay pending the termination process. Migues has been employed with HCSO for the past 11 years and was assigned to the Falkenburg Road Jail.
