Gov. Rick Scott continued his “Let’s Keep Florida Beautiful” tour at Two Rivers Ranch in Crystal Springs Wednesday, proposing new environmental policies for the 2015 legislative session and highlighting record investments in Florida’s environment during his first term.

If elected to a second term, Scott said he plans to:

  • Ensure the Everglades and Indian River Lagoon restoration continue to have the vision and funding to provide a restored ecosystem
  • Continue to expand funding for spring restoration and alternative water supply programs
  • Improve recreational and outdoor opportunities for Florida families by better maintaining and investing in Florida’s treasured properties
  • Ensure Florida’s natural resource management decisions are made in a transparent manner with local input and clear goals and timelines

Two Rivers Ranch is named for two rivers converging on the property, the Hillsborough River and Blackwater Creek. The land includes pasture, planted pines and wetland habitats.

Governor Scott faces two Republican opponents in the August 26 primary, Yinka Adeshina and Elizabeth Cuevas-Neunde.
