Franki Bernier and her family are among 25 families getting back on the road again today.

It’s thanks to "Wheels of Success,” a non-profit group that, for the past nine years, has paired up needy families with reliable transportation.

Bernier was presented with her late model Toyota Camry at the organization's annual "drive away" Labor Day event at the Florida Fairgrounds on Monday. Her car was one of five donated this year by State Farm Insurance.

“It means that I no longer have to rely on other people to get to work every day,” she sighed. “It's been, it's been a challenge."

This car is the difference between keeping a job and losing a way of life for Bernier and her family.

“My car died, it had 301,000 miles on it. And when it died I went into a state of panic. I thought I was going to have to quit my job,” she said. “My commute is an hour long, in the blazing Florida sun, and when you have a car that has as many miles on it as that one did, it's bound to go.
