The city of Brooksville is considering changes to how it grants fee waivers for special events.
Currently people or organizations that apply for a permit for a parade, festival or other event can ask to have those fees waived. The city sets aside a piece of the budget for that.
However, our partners at the Tampa Bay Times report that the city council isn't sure it can afford to do this in the same way anymore.
Council members think they need to put policies in place to ensure fairness.
