Don't try to overdo it. Starting too fast to try to keep up can lead to a negative experience.

Instead, you should do interval training. That involves alternating high-intensity exercise with recovery periods.

Eventually, you'll see improvements over time.

Cold and flu season getting closer

Now that cold and flu season is approaching, you might find it challenging to avoid germs.

So here are a few tips:

  • Beware of close contact.
  • A lot of germs can be transferred from person to person by just by breathing on each other.
  • Stay at home when you get sick.
  • Never sneeze or cough into your elbow. That way, you won't spread anything with your hands.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, mouth or nose.
  • And, of course, wash your hands.

Meds should be secured from kids

There's a new report out on children getting a hold of their parents' medications.

A study reveals that 34,000 children end up in emergency rooms for accidentally swallowing them.

Of those, more than 9,000 have to stay in the hospital for additional treatment.

Experts say it's important to fully secure child-resistant caps of medication bottles or leave the medications somewhere  children cannot get a hold of them.
