The man accused of killing four people in Hudson will remain in jail.

Adam Matos, appearing before a Pasco County judge Tuesday afternoon, was denied bond.

Matos, who was assigned a public defender, was officially charged with the murders on Monday. He is accused of killing the mother of his 4-year-old son, Megan Brown, her parents Margaret and Greg Brown and Brown's new boyfriend, Nicholas Leonard.

Deputies discovered their bodies Sept. 4 after they went to the Hudson home on Hattaras Drive to conduct a welfare check.

A massive manhunt for Matos, 28, ensued and an Amber Alert was issued for 4-year-old Tristan.

Matos and Tristan were found in the Floridan Hotel in downtown Tampa. Matos was taken into custody, Tristan was unharmed.

Matos told reporters while being escorted from the hotel he had nothing to do with the killings.

He was being held on an aggravated assault charge stemming from an accusation he pulled a knife on Megan Brown on Aug. 28.

Matos is being held at the Pasco County Jail.
