Clearwater Fire & Rescue personnel rescued a woman from her car after it became trapped in high water.
The rescue occurred late this morning at Japanese Garden Mobile Home Park, 19709 U.S. 19 N.
The woman was backing her car up when the vehicle was swept away by flood waters, according to Clearwater Fire & Rescue.
The heavy rains this morning turned what normally is a dry drainage ditch that leads to the waters of Tampa Bay into a raging river.
Firefighters used a ladder that they put into the rear door of the car to get the driver out. She was put on a back board and removed from the vehicle. A passenger in the car was able to get out on her own.
Both women declined medical treatment.
