The St. Petersburg city council has passed a budget for the 2015 fiscal year.

According to partner newspaper the Tampa Bay Times, the approval of the $483-million budget only took about an hour of discussion and public comment.

The council voted to keep the same property tax rate.

There will be, however, a slight increase in water bills, with the average home seeing a $2 to $3 increase.

Council members say the budget reflects the city's priorities as everyone works to recover from the recession.
