Tampa fire crews responded to a vacant house fire Tuesday morning in the Busch Gardens area.

According to Tampa Fire Rescue, the fire broke out at 6:30 a.m. at 9214 N Hyaleah Road.

Firefighters found heavy smoke and flames consuming about half the house when they arrived at the single story home.

The fire was under control in about 30 minutes and there were no injuries reported. According to the incident report the fire originated in the southeast bedroom of the home that was vacant for remodeling.

The fire caused major damage to the roof and attic. Damage to the home is estimated at $48,000.

The fire is under investigation.

Meanwhile, lightning is being blamed for a separate house fire in Odessa.

Officials said a fire broke out in the attic of a home in the 15000 block of Bellamy Road during Monday's night heavy storms in the area.

Firefighters were able to quickly put out the small fire, but one person was taken to an area hospital with undisclosed minor injuries.
