With a frontal boundary stalled across the state, areas of rain moved through early Saturday morning.

"As low pressure moved from Central Florida into the Atlantic, drier air pushed in from the north by mid-morning," Bay News 9 meteorologist Diane Kacmarik said.

The rain moved south of the Bay area and some sun filtered in during the early afternoon.

A few showers developed in northern Florida and pushed south into Citrus, Hernando, Pasco and eventually Hillsborough into the evening.

High temperatures were in the low 80s.

"The moisture is still just to the south," said Kacmarik. "So we stay in this drier air for one more day, then the moisture returns on Monday."

Although it's still the height of hurricane season, the tropics are relatively quiet. The Bay News 9 weather team is watching a tropical wave off the northwest coast of Africa that has a low chance of development over the next several days.
