A bicyclist is in critical condition after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Dade City on Sunday morning, troopers said.
According to reports, an unknown driver was traveling north on Bellamy Brothers Boulevard at the same time 52-year-old Julio Vivo, of Wesley Chapel, was riding his bike on the same road.
For unknown reasons, troopers said the front of the vehicle collided with Vivo.
The driver fled the scene without stopping.
The vehicle is described as a red or burgundy colored mid-sized SUV and may have damage to the front.
Vivo was transported to Tampa General Hospital.
