A bicyclist struck by a sport utility vehicle while crossing a side street in Seminole Saturday night has died.
Francisco Gutierrez, 37, of Seminole was riding north on the west sidewalk of Seminole Boulevard around 11:45 p.m. As he crossed 53rd Avenue N, he was hit by a westbound 2006 Ford Escape driven by 30-year-old Brittany Hermann of St. Petersburg, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.
Gutierrez, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with life-threatening injuries, deputies said. He died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators said that neither speed nor alcohol were suspected in the crash.
