A Bradenton woman was grazed in the head by a bullet Sunday morning when her husband dropped a gun from his pocket, deputies said.

As Patricia Turbeville, 58, and John Turbeville, 59, were preparing to play golf around 8:40 a.m., John removed a small North American 5-shot revolver from his pocket and dropped it. The revolver discharged when it hit the floor, the couple told Manatee County sheriff's deputies.

The round grazed the right side of Patricia's head. John drove her to the Blake Medical Center emergency room for treatment, deputies said.

Deputies said Patricia was alert and talking when they interviewed her. They said the incident appeared to have been accidental, and John was not charged.
