The Hernando County Commission on Tuesday will take up a proposal to purchase seven acres on Cortez Boulevard near I-75 for the planned Nature Coast Education Center.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, the center would be financed with a $3 million legislative allocation and $3 million in matching dollars from the county. The land would cost $1.7 million.

Some commissioners have reservations about the location, but most say they'll support the purchase, according to the Times. The meeting is set for 9 a.m.
