Largo City Commissioner Curtis Holmes, facing disciplinary action for downloading inappropriate material to his city-owned iPad, has lawyered up.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Holmes has hired St. Petersburg attorney Brian Battaglia to represent him against possible censure.

Largo officials had scheduled a meeting for Tuesday to discuss the Holmes situation, but it has been postponed because Battaglia will be attending his father's funeral.

Holmes came under fire from other commissioners after it was learned he downloaded multiple images from Facebook and YouTube to his city tablet for the purpose of emailing them to himself. According to the Times, the materials included anti-Obama comments, political articles, crude jokes and insults to illegal immigrants and Muslims.

After other city commissioners suggested Holmes should resign, Holmes sent an email to City Manager Mac Craig threatening legal action, the Times reported.
