And the little pig went weeeee all the way home.

A baby pig stolen from the Agriculture barn at George Jenkins High School has been returned.

Polk sheriff’s deputies arrested 19-year-old Aaron Douglas Holmes and charged him with one count burglary and one count grand theft of a farm animal.

Drew Newman, who had a warrant for his arrest for the same charges, turned himself in at the booking facility of the Polk County Jail in Bartow Thursday afternoon.

According to the affidavits, around 2:40 a.m. on Friday, September 19th, the two suspects stole the baby pig valued at $200 from the school Ag Dept building.

A witness told deputies that Newman and Holmes used her car to drive to the school, and told her that they were "going to get a hog."

She observed the two suspects go to the aforementioned building, and come back to her car with the pig. According to the affidavits, they placed the pig in the trunk and then drove to where Holmes' truck was parked. They then transferred the pig to the truck and left.

At some point this weekend, a woman off of Alamo Drive in Lakeland found the pig, and posted an ad on Craigslist in reference to a lost & found pig, looking for its owner. It’s unknown how the pig got away.

A Winter Haven woman contacted the woman who posted the ad and told her that she'd like to claim the pig if nobody else did.

Once the woman retrieved the pig, she saw the media and social media coverage about the stolen pig, and called GJHS Wednesday morning around 10:30 a.m. and let them know she might have the stolen pig.

Mr. Sweeney, the Agriculture teacher for the school, went to the woman's home and positively identified the pig, and took it back to the school.
