A chase involving a stolen fire rescue vehicle led to an accident on southbound I-275 near Ashley Drive in Tampa.

The incident leading up to the crash involved several agencies.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the suspect was involved in a crash at Nebraska Avenue and 139th Street.

Deputies, along with Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded.

A Battalion Chief with the fire department arrived at the scene. Deputies said the suspect in the vehicle crash jumped out and jumped into the fire pick-up truck and fled the scene.

The vehicle in the crash was stolen, deputies said.

Deputies pursued the vehicle onto southbound I-275 and ended the pursuit in the area of Sligh Avenue where it was then picked up by Tampa Police Department.

The vehicle continued on and crashed in the area of I-275 near Ashley Drive. Tampa officers took the suspect into custody at the scene.
