Even though Charlie Crist and Rick Scott are garnering most of the media attention in this race there is a third candidate running for governor.

Adrian Wyllie is running as a Libertarian and he could be a game changer in this election.

With all the negative ads, polls show both Crist and Scott have had their favorability ratings dragged down.

That may be handing an opening to Wyllie, who has racked up enough money and support to launch his own TV ad.

Crist campaign advisor Kevin Cate said Wyllie sounds a lot more like a Republican than a Democrat. And if that's true, independent conservatives who voted for Scott four years ago could be having a change of heart.

“They were with the Tea Party wave. You're looking at Panhandle voters, north Florida voters, who call themselves No Party Affiliation but generally vote for Republicans. Wyllie is an alternative to a guy that they don't really like,” said Cate.

Some pollsters say it's also possible Wyllie could be hurting Crist more than Scott. Democrats leery about Crist's move to the party may look to Wyllie as an alternative candidate.
