Orange County deputies are asking for help from the public in identifying and locating two teens they say battered and robbed a 63-year-old woman.

The incident occurred on September 22, around 9:30 o.m. while the victim was standing at the intersection of Balboa Drive and Santa Anita Street when two suspects, estimated to be teenagers, approached her on BMX-style bicycles.

According to deputies, the suspects slammed the woman to the ground before stealing her black Italian-leather purse. The 63-year-old victim sustained a serious spinal injury and sought medical attention at the hospital, but did not report the attack to local law enforcement.

On September 24, however, the incident was reported to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, but the victim was not willing to pursue criminal charges against the suspects.

Detectives met with the victim again on September 26, when she decided to cooperate with the investigation and provided a detailed account of the attack, and descriptions of the suspects.

The first suspect is described as being between 16 and 18 years old, about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a muscular build, round face and short black hair with brown eyes. The victim described the first suspect's ears as being the tiniest ears she had ever seen.

The second suspect is also estimated to be between 16 and 18 years old, around 5 feet 6 inches tall with a thin build, short black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a white t-shirt and white shorts at the time of the alleged attack.
