Polk County sheriff's detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a man Friday morning.
Between 5:30 a.m. and 7:40 a.m., 42-year-old Donald Bryan Branch was walking in the area of Kathleen Road and Tom Branch Lane in Lakeland when he was hit and killed. The driver fled the scene without rendering aid.
The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 1991-2000 GM truck or SUV, color unknown. The passenger-side mirror housing was removed, and it is thought that there may be minor damage to the passenger side of the vehicle, detectives said.
