The Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center is getting $800,000 from the Hillsborough County Commission.
The money will go toward building a new pool, renovating the old one and adding more programs to teach children to swim.
Center leaders also hope the money will pay for more lifeguards, swim instructors and office staff.
