The new year is bringing new hope for a Plant High School student fighting for her life in an Atlanta hospital.

Jackie Faircloth, 18, has been in critical condition since a hit-and-run driver slammed into her Thanksgiving weekend in Tallahassee.

But Faircloth's parents released some good news on Facebook this week. They say the popular cheerleader has her eyes 20 to 30 percent open, and she's even moving her arms and legs.

Last month, she was placed in a medically induced coma to reduce swelling on the brain. She was later moved to an Atlanta hospital.

Devon M. Dwyer of Tallahassee has been charged with hit-and-run and failure to remain at a crash involving injury.

Faircloth's parents keep everyone up to date on her progress through her facebook page called Pray for Jackie. Get well cards have been pouring in for Faircloth. Her family  floods her hospital room with them so she can see them when she wakes up.

If you are interested in sending your support, her family requests sending cards to this address:
