A 25-year-old Palm Harbor man died early Wednesday after jumping off a boat ramp in Oldsmar, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies responded to a report of a person in the water around 6:15 a.m. Marine and flight units, as well as Coast Guard and Florida Fish and Wildlife personnel, were called out to conduct a search.
Around 8:50 a.m., they recovered the body of Anthony Norton from the water.
According to investigators, witnesses said Norton intentionally jumped off the ramp at National Orange Avenue and Lafayette Boulevard.
Authorities are trying to determine whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the incident.
An investigation is ongoing.
