Two drivers were critically injured Friday night when a Nissan Titan pickup truck veered across the center line and collided with a Mitsubishi Mirage on County Road 579, authorities said.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the Titan, driven by 40-year-old Aaron Davis of Brandon, was traveling north on rural CR 579 at about 50 mph around 11 p.m.

The Mirage, driven by 37-year-old Heide Oliveras of Riverview, had just turned right from Joe Ebert Road to go right on CR 579 when the truck crossed the double-yellow line. The vehicles collided in the southbound lanes, deputies said.

The impact caused the truck to roll onto its roof.

Both Davis and Oliveras were transported to Tampa General Hospital, where Davis is in critical condition and Oliveras is in critical/stable condition.

Test results are pending on Davis' blood alcohol, deputies said.
