Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies have apprehended a man they say is connected to a fatal stabbing in Palm Harbor.

Deputies apprehended Michael Andre Lease, 38, on Sunday night. Lease was found by a K-9 Unit Chief behind a home on Mainsail Circle.

Deputies attempted to make contact with Lease this afternoon and he fled on foot. He has been on the run all day.

According to investigators, 23-year-old Dwight Tisdale and Lease were in a vehicle moving slowly along Market Place Drive around 2:22 p.m. on Friday. Witnesses told detectives the two appeared to be arguing inside the car.

At one point, Tisdale, who was the driver, staggered out of the vehicle and fell to the ground. Detectives said Lease also exited the vehicle, walked towards Tisdale, stood over him and stabbed him multiple times with a knife.

Tisdale was transported to Mease Countryside Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Lease fled on foot in an eastbound direction towards a nearby residential area and then to the south into a wooded area.

Detectives say the two are believed to be known to each other.

John Chesnut Park will resume normal business hours Monday and will be open.
