Sunshine has returned to the Tampa Bay area. With afternoon temperatures expected to top out in the mid 60s, today should be a great day to be outdoors.

"It's cooler than average, but it's much more pleasant out than it was yesterday," Bay News 9 meteorologist Josh Linker said. "We have sunshine and lighter winds."

The week will stay cool, courtesy of a series of reinforcing cold fronts. There's very little rain in the forecast, but daytime temperatures will stay below 70 degrees all week.

The next front will come through Monday morning behind a band of showers. Most of the region will get some rain between 2 a.m. to 8 a.m., Linker said.

Monday afternoon will be dry and windy, with highs in the low 60s.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be cooler, with highs of around 60 degrees and lows in the 40s around Tampa Bay and 30s in the northern counties.
