The Pittsburgh Pirates will hold national anthem auditions from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at McKechnie Field.

Auditions are open to anyone interested in singing the Star Spangled Banner before a Pirates spring training game in March. Singers must feel comfortable performing in front of 7,000 or more people.

Singers must perform a cappella and take no longer than two minutes. They will perform in the order they sign up Saturday - there is no pre-registration. The auditions are for vocalists only.

Candidates who want to sing the Canadian National Anthem before the Pirates games against Toronto on Wednesday, March 4 and Saturday, March 28 are welcome to audition for those opportunities as well.

The Pirates will play a 16-game home schedule at McKechnie Field this spring, beginning with the Black and Gold intra-squad game on Monday,March 2. Tickets are available by calling 941-747-3031, 1-877-893-2827) and online through www.Pirates.com .
