A 16-month-old child died Thursday morning after falling into his family's swimming pool, authorities said.
According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Cliff Booz fell into the family pool Wednesday afternoon at a home on Lake Buffum Road West in Fort Meade.
The boy's mother, Kimberly Booz, pulled him out of the pool, and she and a neighbor performed CPR until paramedics arrived, deputies said.
Booz was flown to Lakeland Regional Medical Center and transferred to Tampa General Hospital.
