A cold front is moving across the area today.

According to Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez, Bay area morning temperatures in the 40s (and some 30s) will rise to the upper 60s to about 70 degrees this afternoon.

"The winds will increase this afternoon with the cold front," Marquez said. "There is a small line of showers to our north and there is a slight chance of an isolated shower in our area today."

There will be increasing clouds and conditions will turn chilly and stay breezy tonight.

Gasparilla Day will start out chilly but conditions will improve during the day Saturday.

"It will be a colder morning," Marquez said with temperatures in the 40s. "But the afternoon is going to be gorgeous. High temperatures will be near 70 degrees with lighter winds in the afternoon."

The warmup continues on Sunday with highs expected in the mid 70s.
