A pedestrian was struck and killed Friday night in Brooksville by a driver who left the scene and was later located at a McDonald's restaurant, authorities said.
Around 9 p.m., David P Willson III, 37, of Brooksville was walking north on rural Snow Memorial Highway at Lake Lindsey Road when he was stuck from behind by the right front of an F-250 pickup truck, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Willson died at the scene.
At 10:45 p.m., authorities located the truck's driver, 66-year-old Benton C. Yost, 66, of Florida City, and his two passengers at the McDonald's at 845 South Broad St. in Brooksville.
Evidence was collected at that location and charges are pending, the FHP said.
