Former Buccaneers running back Warrick Dunn handed over the keys to a new home to a local family.

Xeniya McBroom and her 2-year-old daughter moved into their new Habitat for Humanity home this week.

The home was fully furnished, with a pantry filled with food and a $5,000 gift from Warrick Dunn Charities.

"For me, it's all about when the family walks through, it's all about them," Dunn said. “When we leave it’s also a life changing moment. But is also an impact in the community because they’ve had to work for this home, nothing is given to them.”

Dunn said he'll never forget how Tampa helped him.

“I still live here so I’m always going to come back but this place was the birth of the program and I can’t forget where I came from," he said. "Even though I spend more time in Atlanta now I think it’s important that I do come back home, this is always going to be home for me and my family.”

This is the 145th Habitat home Warrick Dunn Charities has sponsored.
