The U.S. Coast Guard offloaded approximately $40 million worth of cocaine Wednesday at the Port of St. Petersburg.

That’s approximately 1,177 kilograms of cocaine.

The Coast Guard Cutter Spencer seized the drugs in the Caribbean Sea as a result of two busts earlier this month.

A total of six suspected smugglers were taken into custody.

The Coast Guard has seized more than $4 billion worth of drugs in the last year.
