The mayor of the City of Bradenton has narrowed down his list of top 10 candidates for the Chief of Bradenton Police position.

Chief Michael Radzilowski is retiring from the department in December.

He served in law enforcement for 45 years and at the Bradenton Police Department for 13 years.

The city is currently trying to find a replacement. More than 100 people applied for the job.

This week, Mayor Wayne Poston narrowed down the list to the top 10 finalists.  

While there were 10 finalists, one has already taken another job.

The list of top candidates are:

  • Josh Cramer - Captain, Office of the Chief of Police, City of Bradenton Police Department
  • Christopher Cotillo - Chief of Police at City of Seat Pleasant Police Department, MD
  • Brian C. Harris - Assistant Chief of Police/Special Services Division (SSD), Dekalb County Police Department, Georgia
  • Peter Newsham - Assistant Chief of Police of Metropolitan Police Department, Washington, DC
  • Marion S. Lewis - Director of Security and Loss Prevention, Saddlebrook Golf & Tennis, Resort, Pasco County
  • Melanie Bevan - Assistant Chief of Police- Administrative Services Bureau, St. Petersburg Police Department
  • Dean M. Smith - Major/Deputy Chief of Police- Criminal Investigations, City of Suffolk Police Department, Suffolk, VA
  • George Brian Turner - Chief of Police, City of Brooksville Police Department
  • Larry William Branson - Major- Patrol Division, Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department
