One person died early Sunday morning in a high-speed crash, while two others were pulled from the wreckage by a nearby resident who heard the crash.

The crash happened at 1:10 a.m. on Front Street, west of Mt. Carmel, in Valrico.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, a 2006 Ford Mustang was speeding east on Front Street when the driver lost control in a curve and slid sideways into a tree.

Asa Jovan Abdallah, 26, of Valrico, was ejected from the car and landed about 40 feet from the point of impact. Abdallah died at the scene.

Craig Chambers, who lives nearby, heard the crash and came outside to see what happened. He found two adults still inside the Mustang, so he pulled them from the car and rendered aid until Hillsborough County Fire Rescue arrived.

The two injured occupants both suffered internal injuries and severe burns. They were taken to Tampa General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Deputies are working to identify the two surviving occupants, as well as which of the three people was actually driving the vehicle. They say alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.

The investigation continues.
