Meals on Wheels Plus of Manatee collecting shoeboxes of items for seniors

This Christmas season your old shoeboxes can be put to good use in Manatee County.

Meals on Wheels Plus of Manatee is collecting shoeboxes filled with items for seniors.

Those interested in helping are asked to fill them up items such as toothbrushes, lotions, socks, pens, crossword puzzles, Kleenex and more.

Then, wrap the top and bottom of the boxes separately so they can be opened.

Please indicate if your box is for a male or female.

Place a rubber band around the shoe box lid and include the gender tag.

All boxes can be delivered to the Adult Day Center located on 10920 State Road 70 East, Lakewood Ranch.

Boxes are due by 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 6 or before.

There will be a Holiday Shoe Box Reception that day from 4 – 6 p.m.

Admission is free with a wrapped and filled shoe box.
