A key part of the downtown St. Petersburg waterfront is missing a familiar sight.

The St. Petersburg's Pier's iconic inverted pyramid has been torn down.

Demolition began in August, and the last pieces came down Monday. The pyramid will be replaced with the recently-approved Pier Park, estimated to cost $46 million.
