A 31-year-old Lakeland man is facing serious charges after police say he drove his car into a crowd of people.

According to Winter Haven police, Buddy Bailey drove into a crowd of people early Saturday in the parking lot at Old Man Frank's restaurant and bar at 1005 Lake Howard Dr., SW.

Authorities said an argument broke out at 2 a.m. in the parking lot between and Bailey and three other men. According to police, Bailey then got into his 2006 Chrysler 300 and drove directly into a crowd outside the bar, striking three bystanders. 

The three people hit, who were not involved in the argument with Bailey, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Bailey then drove off, officials said. Witnesses who knew Bailey were able to positively identify him.

Police caught up with Bailey Saturday afternoon at his home in Lakeland. Authorities said Bailey only confirmed that he was at the bar on Friday night and would not make any further statements to investigators.

Bailey was arrested and charged with three counts of of aggravated battery with a motor vehicle and one count each of leaving the scene of crash involving Injury, driving with a suspended license and violation of probation.
