A Brandon man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that killed a woman on Halloween.

According to reports, Darryl Williams, 49, shot Tiffany James, 35, two times around 11 p.m. as she was returning home from a Halloween celebration.

James, who was shot in front of her two 7-year-old daughters, died from her injuries.

Deputies said Williams approached James as she was walking to apartment, did not say a word and shot her before fleeing on foot undetected.

Williams was charged with first degree murder with a firearm. He was arrested at his job in Riverview without incident and will be booked into the Hillsborough County Jail where he will be held without bail.
