Clearwater police are conducting a death investigation after a body was discovered in a crab trap Tuesday morning by a boater.

According to police, the body of a white man was found just before 11 a.m. about two miles west of Clearwater Beach in the Gulf of Mexico. Police said his body had become snagged on the rope, where it was seen by a boater.
