Authorities have arrested a man they're calling the gunman in the shooting death of an 18-year-old man in St. Petersburg on Sunday night.

Davonte Scott, also 18, was taken into custody Tuesday morning at Bayside High School in the death of Jarrod Evans. Scott has been charged with second degree murder.

Evans was shot in the upper torso outside Johnie's Food Mart, 1404 16th Street S., around 8:40 p.m. Sunday, police said. He was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he died a short time later.

Police early Monday arrested Darzaughn Williams, 18, and charged him with accessory after the fact to second degree murder. Investigators say Williams was driving the car from which Scott fired the fatal shot.
