Sounds of the holiday season are ringing throughout the Bay area.

The Florida Orchestra is rehearsing and getting ready to deck concert halls in Tampa, Clearwater and St. Petersburg this weekend.

"It starts with Handel’s 'Messiah' and for the first time in 14 years, we’re going to be performing the entire piece with the Tampa Bay Master Chorale," said Kelly Smith, Public Relations Manager with the Florida Orchestra. “To hear the whole work is going to be very moving and very classical.”

“It’s a little bit of fun,” said Smith. “It’s a little bit of moving and holiday spirit and you get to sing along.”

Reporter Trevor Pettiford will participate in the Holiday Pops program, narrating a jolly rendition of “'Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

TFO says the more music, the merrier. Concerts continue with "An Old World Christmas." The Coffee Concert includes Bach’s "Brandenburg Concerto No. 3," Handel’s “Pifa” from Messiah and Corelli’s "Christmas Concerto." This concert includes complimentary coffee and doughnuts.

And be sure to ring in 2016 with the Florida Orchestra and its New Year’s Waltz.

No matter which performance you attend, the music is sure to help you feel festive.

"Whether it’s a 6-year-old or a 90-year-old, it’s something that will move you and fill you with Christmas spirit in your own way," says Smith.
