The wife of a law enforcement officer was captured on surveillance video stealing boxes filled with Christmas gifts from a neighbor’s front porch, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

“You know, I wanted to say, 'What are you doing, girl?'” Sheriff Grady Judd said.

The Sheriff's Office says the woman is Dana Hagar -- and that she stole the gifts from a cop’s wife. The (Lakeland) Ledger reports that Hagar's husband is Haines City Police Sgt. Kevin Hagar.

“Here’s a law enforcement officer’s wife that’s going to the next street over and stealing off of the porch of another law enforcement officer’s wife. Huh? You kidding me?” Judd said.

According to an arrest affidavit, Hagar felt bad about stealing the packages and returned them to the porch.

But it was too late.

The victim had already posted the surveillance video all over social media.

Dana Hagar, 42, is accused of taking packages off the doorstep of a Lakeland home.

The Central Florida LEO Wives group said they wanted to help catch the person who stole from one of them.

“We were in shock. You would never think that something like that would happen, especially from a fellow blue line family member,” Central Florida LEO Wives member Dani Thompson said.

The sheriff is hoping this serves as a reminder for people not to steal from front porches this holiday season.

Last year, a woman was arrested for running over and almost killing a man for a package on his front porch. It’s something the sheriff says they’re working hard to prevent from happening again.

“The message is clear: 'Hey, you porch pirates, when we catch you, you’re going to spend Christmas in jail, because you’re just a Grinch,'” Judd said.

Hagar was already on probation for stealing from a store earlier this year.
